My mom was raised on the above farm in Maryland, outside of Washington, DC. Success for my family, at the time, meant selling the land and moving to the suburbs. So just one generation removed and, I have to admit, I’ve never planted a solitary bean, tomato, or strawberry.
I can’t tell you how excited I am that my mom and sister sat down with my 81 year old grandfather last weekend to take a lesson in gardening. The seedlings have been planted. I look forward to seeing the results Padgett gardening 2.0. And I hope to one day have my own spot of the earth in NYC in the form of a yard, rooftop terrace, or balcony where I can grow my very own container garden.
Happy gardening!
